Early detection laboratory profiles are an invaluable tool in the early detection of disease. Many diseases cannot be identified on physical examination alone. Performing this profile as well as additional testing may be needed for an accurate diagnosis. If we identify a problem in the kidneys or liver early in the course of disease, we have many more options than if we make the diagnosis late in the course of the disease; if we identify a patient is anemic, we can aggressively look for the cause and in the vast majority of cases can correct this condition.
